On Sunday, students and teachers from both ITE and IVE went to KL of Malaysia for 3 days trip. We crossed the border by coach bus and took a few hours to KL. The experience is similar to traveling back to China from Hong Kong. The weather in KL is cooler than in Singapore. However, the food here is not as tasty as in Singapore. A few of us even got stomachache and felt sick after the first dinner in KL. Thank God that they were not serious. We learnt to select food carefully.

The city plan in KL is not well-organized as Singapore. They look like cities in China. Many Chinese speaks Cantonese there. We visited Limkokwing University on the second day. It's a design college. The government fully supports the creative industry and education there. The university creates many brandings and the government supports them to promote in different cities. They own and run “10 Ten”(like 7Eleven) and “Wings Coffee” in the campus. They have exhibition hall to display student works and projects all through the year. We are looking forward to having such spaces in HKDI!

After 3 days visit, we couldn't wait to go back to Singapore. We miss our bed and food there! Of course, we have home sick of HK. We miss you and our family too!

Apart from going out for cultural research and studies, teachers have the debriefing sessions with students to discuss their projects. Students also make use of their free time to write and draw their journal. Sometimes, they are asked to have quiet time to reflect what they have learnt in the trip. Look at the photos. They look so serious to this moment.

In the pass few days, we are glad that the students are getting more responsible, mature and caring for others. They treasure the time together in learning and being as roommates during the trip. These are the great encouragement to us cause this cannot be taught easily in the classroom.

In the first few days, we have visited National Museum, History Gallery and Art House, etc. Here are some photos of the first few days.

The weather in here is very hot. We can't stop from sweating. Though we drink a lot of water, we feel exhausted and feel very tired at the end of each day. However, our students are so energetic in every fresh morning after the sleep.
We live in campus hostel. It's a new campus and our group is the first visitor to live in. Everything is brand new, so it's very comfortable for 3 to 4 students in one room. Helen and Olivia live in a master room with pantry. For Fabien, he occupies a big master room all by himself. We are just so jealous to him! ^ ^ Right outside our hall, there is a swimming pool. Unfortunately, we don't have time to enjoy it so far.

Today, we have visited Little Indian and Malaysia Heritage. We had lunch in an Indian restaurant. The chef came to introduce their eating culture and showed us how to wear their traditional clothes. Olivia and Fabien were the models. Are they looking beautiful?
